Red Fox

Three color phases occur in the red fox- red, black, and brown with black markings.
The black form is known as the "silver" fox, and the brownish one is the "cross" fox. The red, or rufus, variety is simply called a "red" fox. All three sport a bushy, white-tipped tail.
